The journey

Twelve weeks, at your own pace.

S.A.F.E. Academy is a self-paced, twelve-week programme you follow around your daily work. Content is released week by week so you keep a rhythm, but you move at your own pace. Pause and pick up again whenever you need to. Because this is emotionally heavy material, the programme is built with care. We included regular Mindful Moments to give you space to breathe, so learning about trauma never becomes overwhelming.

The passages that touch on depression and suicidal thoughts were reviewed with 113, the Dutch suicide prevention organisation.

Three steps

From the first lesson to certificate.

1

Choose how you start: one module or the full certification.

2

Work through it week by week, with Ayleen guiding you.

3

Pass the final assessment to earn the S.A.F.E. certificate.

How you learn

Human and practical.

Ayleen guides you through the whole journey. She opens every module and comes back at the moments that are hardest. You will hear victim stories. You will hear what a calm voice does to a conversation that is going wrong. You will practise in guided scenarios where nothing you try can harm a real person. Every lesson checks your understanding as you go, so the learning is active rather than passive.

Underneath all of it sits the S.A.F.E. method. See the victim. Acknowledge the trauma. Facilitate recovery. Enable reporting and prevention. Four principles, so that theory always turns into something you can use in the very next conversation.

“Being disbelieved, dismissed and made a victim a second time did more lasting harm than the fraud itself.”
– Ayleen Charlotte

Most training tells you to be empathetic. It does not tell you what to do when the person on the phone is shouting at you instead of at the fraudster. Or answering in single words. Or defending the man who took everything from them.

None of those reactions is personality and none of them is obstruction. They are what a nervous system does under threat, what shame does to memory and what an engineered attachment does to loyalty. Every one of them has a reason. This programme gives you the reason first, then the sentence that works with it rather than against it.

What almost no training teaches

Six reactions you will meet and what to say back.

01

"Why didn't you stop this?"

What to say back:

“You have every right to be angry. Let’s look at what we can do now.”

02

“It’s fine. It’s only money.”

What to say back:

“How are your doing, apart from the money?”

03

“He really loves me. You don’t know him.”

What to say back:

“I can hear how much he means to you. Tell me more about him.”

04

“I don’t know where to start. It’s all a blur.”

What to say back:

“Start wherever you like. We will put the pieces together.”

05

"I lost all my savings."

What to say back:

“Your savings were stolen. What happened to you is a crime.”

06

“How could i be so stupid?”

What to say back:

“You were targeted. This was done to you.”

This is the part professionals tell us they had never been taught. It is also the part they use the same week.

Prove it and get certified

A certificate that shows what you can do.

Your certificate shows what you can do. You understand how fraud and manipulation work and what they do to a person. When a victim is angry, numb or ashamed, you know what to say, even when the news is bad. You can help break the spell, prevent the shame spiral and protect victims from a second fraud. You have shown all of this in realistic situations, safety questions included.

Complete all five modules and pass the final assessment, including the required safety questions. You then receive the S.A.F.E. Certified Professional certificate: a certificate of completion for the Advanced Program in Victim-Centered Fraud Response.
