Our courses will go live on October 26, 2026.
Terms & conditions
Last updated: 29 September 2026
S.A.F.E. Academy trains people who meet fraud victims — in banks, investigations, first response and victim support — for the human side of the crime, not only the financial one. These terms are the agreement between you and us when you use this website, create an account, buy a module or the full programme, or take a course.
They should be read with our Privacy policy and Cookie policy. If anything on this page is unclear, email info@safe-academy.org before you pay.
1. Who we are
S.A.F.E. Academy is the training programme of S.A.F.E. by Ayleen Charlotte.
- Email: info@safe-academy.org
- Postal address: Postbus 97, 1930AB Egmond aan Zee, the Netherlands
- Chamber of Commerce (KvK): 87233541
The website is hosted and technically managed by Surver B.V. (surver.nl).
Buying happens in our shop (WooCommerce). The training itself runs in our learning environment (LearnDash). You use one account for both: My account is where you log in, see orders and manage your details. The course pages are where you study.
2. Who the programme is for
The courses are written for professionals and others who may speak to a fraud victim in the course of their work. They are not a therapy service, a hotline, or legal advice for a specific case. They do not replace your organisation’s safeguarding route, clinical care, or the law that applies to your role.
You must be 18 or over to create an account and to buy. The site is not aimed at children.
If you buy for a team, a founding partnership, white-label use or the Implementation Toolkit, those arrangements are agreed separately. These terms cover the public shop and the standard online modules.
3. Your account
Checkout requires an account. Guest checkout is off. You are responsible for the email address and password you use, and for keeping them to yourself. Do not share a login so that more than one person can take a paid place.
If you think someone else is using your account, change the password and tell us. We may suspend an account if we reasonably believe it is being shared, abused, or used in a way that puts a victim or a learner at risk.
4. What you can buy
The shop sells digital training only. Nothing is posted to you. The catalogue is:
- Module 1 — The psychological and emotional impact of fraud (weeks 1–3). Can be taken on its own.
- Module 2 — Effective communication with fraud victims (weeks 4–5). Requires Module 1 (in your basket, already owned, or completed, as the shop and course rules require).
- Module 4 — Supporting victims beyond the fraud (weeks 9–10). Requires Module 1. If you are on the full programme, you also complete Module 3 before Module 4.
- S.A.F.E. Certified Professional — the full twelve-week programme (all five modules). Module 3 (Breaking the spell) and Module 5 (Put S.A.F.E. into practice) are only in this programme. They are not sold on their own.
You cannot put the full programme in the same basket as a standalone module. Prices are shown in euro on the product page and at checkout. What you pay is the amount shown when you complete payment, including any tax that checkout displays.
Payment is by card through Stripe. We do not store full card numbers on our servers.
5. Access to the course
When payment succeeds, we enrol the account that placed the order on the module or modules that order covers. You then study on this website, in Focus Mode, at your own pace, unless we have agreed a timetable with your organisation.
Access is for that one learner. It is not a licence to copy the course into your own LMS, to train a whole team from one login, or to publish our lesson text, audio, video or assessments.
We may update lessons, audio, practice and assessments from time to time so the training stays accurate. We will not take away a module you have paid for without a serious reason (for example, unpaid chargeback, shared login, or legal risk).
6. How the course works
Lessons include reading, audio, short knowledge checks, reflections and, at the end of a module, an assessment.
Knowledge checks inside a lesson are practice. They are not stored as an exam record. Reflections you type stay in your browser; we only record that you completed them. Classroom polls are anonymous. Please do not paste names of victims, case files or other confidential details into any free-text box.
Module assessments are different. They use the course quiz. We store the score, whether you passed, the date and the number of attempts. Safety questions in an assessment must be answered correctly to pass, even if the rest of the score looks high enough. You may retake an assessment. Passing a module may be what opens the next one, as described on the course.
Some screens mention suicidal thoughts or other acute risk, and point to public help such as Find A Helpline. That is a content note and a signpost. It is not emergency care from us. If you, or someone you are supporting, is in immediate danger, use local emergency services and your organisation’s safeguarding route.
7. HeartOSINT and other tools
HeartOSINT is a practice tool from Riskoria, included with the programme. If you use it, Riskoria’s own terms and privacy notice apply to what you do there. You do not need to paste personal data of victims into that tool.
8. Intellectual property
The course text, structure, audio, video, assessments, branding and this website belong to S.A.F.E. Academy or our licensors. You may use them to take the training you paid for. You may not copy, sell, scrape or republish them, or use them to build a competing product, without our written permission.
Short quotes in your own internal notes, for your own practice, are fine. Circulating lesson files or assessment answer keys is not.
9. Certificates
Where a certificate is offered, it is issued when you have completed the relevant module or programme to the standard described in the course (including any required assessments). A certificate records that you completed this training. It is not a licence to practise a regulated profession, and it does not mean we have supervised your live casework.
10. Cancellation and refunds
You buy digital content that we start to deliver as soon as we open the course on your account.
If you are a consumer in the EU or UK, the law usually gives you 14 days to change your mind on a distance purchase. For digital content that period ends once delivery has started, if you clearly agreed to that and acknowledged that you would lose the cooling-off right. Checkout is set up on that basis: when you pay and we enrol you, the service has started.
We do not refund because you did not finish, did not pass an assessment, or decided the subject was difficult. We also do not refund a second seat that was taken by sharing a password.
If we cannot give you access after a successful payment, if the product is not what we described, or if there is a serious fault we cannot fix, contact us. We will repair access or refund as the law requires. Chargebacks made without speaking to us first may lead to the account being suspended while we look into it.
If you bought as a business, the 14-day consumer cooling-off right typically does not apply. Speak to us if a team purchase was made in error; we will be fair where we can, but we are not obliged to refund once access has been granted.
11. Availability
We aim to keep the site available. Hosting, payment providers and the internet can fail. Planned maintenance will be kept as short as we can. We are not liable for delay or loss that comes from an outage outside our reasonable control, including Stripe, your own network, or a third-party tool such as HeartOSINT.
12. Our responsibility
We take care that the training is carefully written and that the shop and courses work as described. We do not promise a particular outcome in a live conversation with a victim, a recovery of funds, or a legal result.
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for any liability the law does not allow us to limit.
Otherwise, we are not liable for indirect loss (such as lost profit, lost data you should not have pasted into the course, or reputational harm at your workplace). Our total liability for a claim about a purchase is limited to the amount you paid us for that purchase.
You remain responsible for how you use what you learn, including following your organisation’s procedures and the law in your country.
13. Privacy
How we handle personal data is explained in the Privacy policy. Course reflections are not stored on our servers. Assessment records are stored as described there and in section 6 above.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update this page. The date at the top will change. For a purchase you have already completed, the terms in force at the time of that payment still apply to that purchase, unless a change is required by law or we both agree otherwise.
15. Law and contact
These terms are governed by the law of the Netherlands. If you are a consumer, you also keep any mandatory protections of the country where you live. Dutch courts have jurisdiction, without limiting a consumer’s right to bring a claim in their own country where the law says so.
